Christopher Elevario

January 20, 1978 — May 19, 2013

Christopher “Chris” Catarino Elevario, age 35, passed away on May 19, following a tragic motor vehicle accident. Chris was born on January 20, 1978 in Tucumcari, NM to the home of Albert and Vera (Selgado) Elevario. Chris attended Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools and during his High School Years he participated in baseball, basketball and football where he along with his teammates won the 1993 State Football Championship. Chris also attended Eastern New Mexico University and New Mexico Highlands University. Chris worked construction as a General Contractor; he worked for various big construction companies and also worked along side his father at A.J. General Contractor. Chris was active in the local unit of the New Mexico National Guard where he retained the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed hunting, music, working at his ranch but most of all he always made sure his daughters were taken care of. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Delfido and Aurora Elevario, his maternal grandmother Delfinia Selgado, his Uncles Pat Elevario, Horace Elevario and Tim Ulibarri, his Aunt Sylvia Gonzales, his Aunt and God Mother Jennie Elevario. Survivors include his parents Albert and Vera Elevario of Santa Rosa, his three precious daughters Hannah, Arianna and Aubrey, his girlfriend Ashley Clawson, his brothers, Mario Elevario and Bonita of Albuquerque, Albert D Elevario of Clayton, NM and his sister Sandra Elevario of Albuquerque. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Amada, Xandria, Nevaeh, Kareena, Sean, Ria, Urijah and Fabian along with numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 22, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Thomas Kayammakal officiation. Burial will follow in the Elevario Family Plot at St. Joseph Cemetery with full Military Honors. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ricky Blea, David Gonzales, Chris Baca, Fernando Abundis, Andre Martinez, Timothy Ulibarri, Eric Selgado and Moises Abundis. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Fabian Elevario, Danny Bradley, Arthur Gonzales, Angelo Romo, Silver Chavez, Bill Johnson, Eddie Mefford, David Tapia, Dennis Gallegos, Bobby Lopez and Steven Gallegos, All services for Chris have been entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
