Johnny Ricky Ortega, age 55, passed away on July 20, at the Alta Vista Hospital in Las Vegas following a sudden illness. Johnny was born on October 11, 1955 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Guadalupe and Vera Ortega. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1978. Johnny worked at T & D Food Market in Santa Rosa for many years before making his home in Las Vegas, NM. He enjoyed his of collection Low Rider Cars, Listening to music, cruising, watching TV, dancing and hanging out with his brothers. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Vera and by an infant brother Albert Howe. Survivors include his mother , Sophie Howe of Santa Rosa, his girlfriend of 22 years Annabelle Archuleta of Las Vegas, NM his brothers and sisters, Guadalupe Howe and wife Jessica of Vaughn, Jeanette Howe and boyfriend Christian Zambrano, of Santa Rosa, Juliette Howe of Santa Rosa, Joel Robles and husband Roger of Albuquerque, Lawrence Howe of Albuquerque, Leonard Howe and wife Susan of Santa Rosa and Albert Ortega and wife Roseana of Clovis, Fern Romero and husband Johnny of Santa Rosa and Dolores Tapia and husband Tommy of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends. Cremation has taken place, a Rosary will be recited on Friday, July 26, at 10:00 AM from St. Rose of Lima Parish, Mass will follow the rosary with Father Thomas Kayammakal officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be, Guadalupe Howe, Leonard Howe, David Tapia, Andrew Tapia, Joseph Sena, Nathan Romero, Santiago Romero, Mark Sena, Mario Rascon, Jr., and Lawrence Howe.
