Dora M. Baca, age 68, of Santa Rosa, NM passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, May 2, 2014 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following a short illness. Dora was born on March 21, 1946 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Andalecio and Bicentita (Barela) Cordova. She was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa. Dora married Manuel Baca on January 16, 1965 in Santa Rosa. Dora worked at various Motels in Santa Rosa. She enjoyed her daily exercises with her friends, cooking, being around her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Dora is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Manuel Baca of the family home in Santa Rosa, two sons, Bobby Baca, and Julian Baca and his wife Tammy of Santa Rosa, two grandchildren that she helped raise, Jasmine Baca and Robert Baca, Jr., grandchildren Melissa Baca Gallegos and husband Chris, Julianne Lucero and husband Joe and Heather Baca, step grandchildren Shyanne Sena, Shiela Rodriguez and husband Rene and Miranda Baca, Great Grandchildren, Cristian Gallegos, Clarissa Gallegos, Ayden Lucero and Brody Sena. Also surviving are five brothers and four sisters,  Pat Cordova and wife Nea of Clovis, Beatrice Salazar of Santa Rosa, Dorothy Romero and husband Adolfo of Santa Rosa, Pete Cordova and wife Mabel of Santa Rosa, James (Bozo) Cordova and wife Anna of Santa Rosa, Frances Aguilar and husband Carlos of Albuquerque, Juanita Tapia and husband Paul of Clovis, Andy Cordova of Clovis, Michael Cordova and wife Patricia of Santa Rosa along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held Monday, May 5, 2014 at 7:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 6, at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima with Father Thomas Kayammakal officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her five brothers, and Victor Baca, Ricky Chavez, Adolph Romero Jr., and Stanley Chavez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be her exercise partners, Mabel Flores, Barbara Baca, Patsy Vigil, Theresa Dean, Grace Gallegos and Emily Lucero.
