Isabel Lopez

Isabel Lopez age 67 of Albuquerque died July 17, 2014 after a long battle with diabetes. Isabel was born February 25,1947 in Ft. Sumner NM. She was the daughter of Adan Barela, and Nestora Coronado. She lived most of her life in Albuquerque NM. She attended Albuquerque High. Isabel worked for Albuquerque Public Schools for a number of years and then retired as a care giver. Isabel worked privately as a care giver and was very busy because of the outstanding care she provided to her clients. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church of Albuquerque. The love of her life were her two grandchildren Ariana S. Lopez and Cassiano N. Lopez. Isabel loved to be around family and to say she was the matriarch of her family would be an understatement. Her life was her children and her extended family. She loved to dance and was an outstanding cook. Isabel Is survived by her two sons Samuel T. Lopez Jr., wife Veronica and Gilbert N. Lopez, wife Denise, Grandchildren Ariana S. Lopez and Cassiano N. Lopez, step grandchildren Steven J. Gonzales, Daniel A. Gonzales, Deanna Sais and Dennis Chavez all of Albuquerque, sisters Transita Santillanes, husband Mike of Denver, CO,Yolanda Rivera and Connie Campos, husband Jerry of Santa Rosa NM, Lucy Rael, of Albuquerque, Bridget Anaya of Tucumcari NM, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner NM, a rosary will be recited at 10 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 followed by the funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. Anthony cemetery with Father Paul Nkumbi officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N. Fifth Street, Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
