Mary "Katy" Katalina Salazar

Mary Katalina Salazar, age 65, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 24, 2014 at her home in Santa Rosa. Mary was born on April 5, 1949 in Tajique, NM to the home of Aurelio and Gabrielita (Sanchez) Sedillo. She was reared and attended schools in Albuqueque. She married Christian Salazar on October 25, 1969 in Albuquerque. Mary loved being with her family especially her grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, cruising and shopping but was most happy when she was around her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Max Sedillo and Albert Sedillo. Surviviors include her husband Christian Salazar of the family home in Santa Rosa, her children, Chris Salazar and wife Joannie of Roswell, Crystal Salazar and Fiancé Mike Medina of Santa Rosa, her grandchildren, Jamie Williams and husband Jason, Christine Sloniker and husband John, Nicholas Salazar, Daniel Chavez, Susana Fresquez and husband E.J., Joannie Chavez, Jason Romero, Jhantel Salazar, Violet Salazar and Emalliah Medina along with 14 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters Eddie Sedillo and wife Minnie who raised Mary, Junior Sedillo and wife Ronnie, Magie Sedillo and wife Delia, Susie Miera and husband Gilbert and Eva Vargas and husband Richard, along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Public visitation hours for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 1pm to 5pm pm at the Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM from the Santa Rosa Church of Christ with Mr. Keith Ross officiating.
