Tom Perry, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on January 17, at his home in Encino, NM. Tom was born on August 25, 1958 in Durango, CO to the home of Rex and Jimmie (Lancaster) Perry. He was reared and attended schools in Shiprock, NM. Tom was a true cowboy, working in various ranches in New Mexico, Colorado and Texas. He lived In Encino for over 30 years where he served as a Town Councilman and volunteered with the Encino Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading, the rodeo and being with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father Rex Perry, his grandparents Al and Alice Lancaster and J.W. and Elizabeth Perry. He is survived by his mother Jimmie Rose Perry of Cortez, CO, his sons Lucas Martinez of Anton Chico, NM, Justin Travis Perry and wife Amy of Roswell, NM, his brother James H Perry and wife Nora of Mancos, CO, his sister Ann Denetdale and husband Terry of Newcomb, NM along with numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless friends. A Memorial Remembrance for Tom will be held at the Encino Community Center on Saturday, January 24, at 1:00 PM. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 26, at 10:00 AM at the Sylvan Cemetery in Cortez, CO followed by a celebration of Tom’s life to be held at the Lewis Arreola Convention Center in Cortez.
