Dolores D. Ortega, age 74, passed away on April 21, at the University of New Mexico Hospital following an illness. Dolores was born on May 12, 1942 in Fort Sumner, NM to the home of James Allen Dunn and Faviola (Gauna) Sena. She was reared and attended schools in Fort Sumner. Dolores married George Ortega on October 26, 1961 in Santa Rosa. She worked as a waitress, cook and a cashier at several restaurants in Santa Rosa. She also worked as a store manager at the Truck Stops of America and along with her husband George owned and operated the Ortega Wrecker Service until her retirement in 2004. Dolores loved spending time with her grandchildren, doing crafts, going to the casinos and listening to her husband’s band Los Ortegas y Los Broncos. She is preceded in death by her mother Faviola Sena, her husband George, her son Mark, her brothers and Sisters Lucy Roybal, Edward Sena, Jean Chavez, Jessie Sena and her Aunt Mary Ethel Bonilla, sister in law Chavela Aguilar and her brother In law Arthur Ortega Survivors include her children, Glenda Evans and husband Rich of Albuquerque, George Ortega, Jr. and wife Bella of Santa Rosa and Gerald Ortega of Santa Rosa, her grandchildren Berna and husband Eric, Nick, Anthony, Andrew, Brenda, Juanita, Valerie, Vanessa and Georgia, her great grandchildren Eric, Aleesha, Lilly, Johnny, Jayla, Estevan, Paris, Reyna, Dominic, Lucas, Danika, Keanu Lee, Leah and Liam. Also surviving is her father R.T. Sena of Fort Sumner, sisters, Ruby Gonzales and husband George of Fort Sumner, Angie Mares and husband Mariano of Roswell, Reba Casaus and husband Rudy of Albuquerque and her brother Allen Dunn and wife Esther of Fort Sumner along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, at 6:00 PM from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26 at 10:00 AM also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating and Deacon Marvin Marquez assisting. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Larry Roybal, B.J. Dunn, Chris Chavez, Jimmy Moncayo, Andrew Ortega, Anthony Ortega and Nicklaus Evans. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Sena, Geno Sena, Louie Romero, Johnny Romero, Adolfo Romero, Albert Chavez, Mike Maestas, Arthur Chavez, Eric Maestas Raymond Samora and all her many friends.
