Helen Pacheco

Helen M. Pacheco, age 79, passed away on June 27, 2017 at the Dan Trigg Hospital in Tucumcari following an illness. Helen was born on April 14, 1938 in Tucumcari, NM to the home of Manuel and Rosita (Garcia) Aragon. She was reared and attended schools in Tucumcari. Helen married Cleofes Pacheco in 1971 in Tucumcari. Helen was an active member of the St. Anne’s Parish; she was a member of the Christian Mothers. She enjoyed playing cards and games, crocheting and bingo. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family very much. Family members stated that she was the “glue that held the family together. Helen is preceded in death by her parents and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include her husband Cleofes Pacheco of the family home in Tucumcari, her daughters, Marlene Sandoval of Albuquerque, Charlene Sandoval and husband Wayne of Tucumcari, Darlene Beltran and husband George of Frisco, TX, her sons, Ruben Pacheco and wife Laurie of Tucumcari, Johnny Joe “JJ” Pacheco of Tucumcari. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Lee Aragon and wife Cecilia of Amarillo, TX, Wifred Aragon of Albuquerque, Modesta Estrada of Las Vegas, NM and Edwina Garcia of Farmington, NM as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be held on Monday, July 3, at 10:00 from St. Anne’s Church in Tucumcari with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 with Father Hyginus Anuta officiating. Burial will follow at Tucumcari Memorial Park. Serving as Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Johnny Joe Pacheco, Jr., George Pacheco, Steven Sandoval, Paul Martinez, George Beltran and Jason Beltran.
