Maria "Charlie" Garcia-Lucero

Maria M. Garcia-Lucero (Charlie) passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. Charlie was born on April 13, 1950 in Santa Rosa to the home of Ambrosio and Refugio Garcia. She retired from the Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools after 28 years of service. Charlie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and four sisters. Survivors include her husband, Manuel Lucero of Santa Rosa, daughter Maria (John) of Rio Rancho, Mario (Cynthia) of Las Cruces, Camelia (Dave) of Las Cruces, her beloved grandchildren David, Korah, Reece and Daniel. Also surviving are her brothers Joe (Becky), Eddie (Kathy) and sisters Grace, Susie (Albert) and Anna (Victor), Charlie also raised Esther Mendoza, Rebecca (Becky) Maes and four of their siblings. Also surviving are several nephews, nieces and friends. Rosary and funeral services will be held at the St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. A rosary will be recited on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will follow immediately at La Morada Cemetary. A meal will be held at the Blue Hole Convention Center. Serving as Pallbearers are Dave Andrade, Korah Andrade, John Cunningham, Reece Cunningham, Daniel Lucero and David Lucero.
