Teresa U Chavez

Teresa U. Chavez, age 82, passed away July 30, 2002 at St. Joseph Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. Teresa was born April 9, 1920 in Colonias, NM to the home of Valentin and Gabrielita Gutierrez Ulibarri. She had been a resident of Albuquerque for over 30 years where she was member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Teresa loved sewing and was a self employed seamstress for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Julian Chavez, an infant daughter Aurora Chavez, brothers and sister Ernesto Ulibarri, Ramon Ulibarri, Velintin Ulibarri, Jr., Luis Ulibarri and Clara Chavez. Survivors include her son Joe Chavez and wife Pablita of Albuquerque, her sisters Manuela Chavez of Clovis and Celina Garcia of Santa Fe. Also surviving are her grandchildren Eraldo Chavez, Julie Chavez and Pete Chavez. numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends and relatives. Rosary services were conducted on Wednesday evening from St. Rose of Lima Church. Communion services were celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:00 also from St. Rose of Lima Church with Deacon Daniel Chavez officiating. Burial followed at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were Eraldo Chavez, Pete Chavez, Julie Chavez, Albert Chavez, Arthur Saiz and Tony Ulibarri. All services were entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.
