Marcelina Cordova Delgado

July 10, 1924 — September 12, 2002

Marcelina Cordova Delgado, age 78, passed away September 12, 2002 at the Guadalupe County Hospital following an illness. Marcelina was born July 10, 1924 in Sombrillo, NM to the home of Frutoso and Francisca Chavez Cordova. She married Eugenio Delgado in 1953 in Santa Rosa. Marcelina worked as a cook in various restaurants such as the Del Rey, Rio Pecos Truckstop, and Borens Restaurant. Marcelina loved playing bingo. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugenio, grandson Joseph Gerhardt, sisters Agneda Lopez and Celina Lopez, brothers Justiniano Cordova and Antonio Cordova. Survivors include her children Esther Delgado and Joe Gerhardt of Santa Rosa, Josephine Delgado of Santa Rosa, Frank Delgado and wife Helen and Robert Cordova and wife Agnes all of Albuquerque, grandchildren David Flores of Albuquerque, Nicole Cordova of Albuquerque, Frances Hutcherson and husband Phillip of Clorado Springs, CO, greatgrandchildren Devyn and Zoe Allysia, brothers Onesimo Cordova and wife Angie, Leandro Cordova and wife Betty all of Santa Rosa and her sister Tomasita Barber of Florence, Alabama. Also surviving are her step grandchildren Maria Garcia and husband Robert, Chery Sandoval and husband Daniel, Marla Zetina, Dereck Zetina, great stepgrandchildren Marcus, Darius, Reina, Jared, Jason, Donovan, Brandon, Dereck Jr., and Devon. Rosary services were conducted on Sunday evening from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday also from St. Rose Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial followed in the family plot at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers were Tony Cordova, Greg Lopez, Boni Cordova, Lupe Lopez, Jake Lopez and David Flores.
