Abel E. Saiz

Abel E. Saiz, Jr., age 64, passed away suddenly on February 26, 2002 in Santa Rosa. Abel was born October 15, 1937 in Sombrillo, NM to the home of Abel and Eufelia Baca Saiz. He was reared and attended schools in Santa Rosa graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1956. He worked for various construction companies in the area and also worked for the City of Santa Rosa for many years. Abel enjoyed hunting and fishing, going for wood and spending time with his many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Donato Saiz and Leo Saiz, his sisters Esther Alarid and Magdalena Saiz. Survivors include his children Jeffery Saiz and wife Sylvia, Randy Saiz, Ted Saiz and wife Jennifer, Roberta Blea and husband Richard, and Alberta Saiz all of Santa Rosa, his grandchildren Renee Blea, Rico Blea, Robert Blea, Lanette Chavez, Delano Chavez, Reuben Chavez, Geno Chavez, Dominic Saiz, Derrick Saiz, Dannica Saiz, and Noah Saiz, his great grandchildren Izaiah Chavez and Felicia Chavez. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters Adelaido Saiz of Albuquerque, Frank Saiz of Santa Rosa, Mary Ortega of Santa Rosa, Arthur Saiz of Ceder Crest, Lola Saiz of Santa Rosa, Ramona Esquibel of California and Agnes Seidel of Santa Rosa. Rosary services will be held on Thursday evening at 7:00 from St. Rose of Lima Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 also from St. Rose Church with Father Stephen Schultz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons Rico Blea, Robert Blea, Delano Chavez, Reuben Chavez, Geno Chavez, Dominic Saiz, Derrick Saiz and Noah Saiz. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Benny Baca, Juan T. Lopez, Randy Lucero, Albert Tapia, Vicente Saiz, Arthur Saiz and all his many friends.
