Manuel Navarette Dominguez, 39 of Fort Sumner, a ranch hand died Thursday, September 7, 2000 in an automobile accident near Moriarty, NM. Manuel was born October 27, 1960 in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico to the home of Eluterio and Margarita N. Dominguez. He was reared and attended school at Coyame. He made his home in Pecos, TX in 1978 where he worked for a short time on a seismograph crew. He married Maribel Rodriguez on December 31, 1981 at Pecos, TX. They made their home at Corona, NM in 1987 where he worked as a ranch hand. He also worked as a ranch hand at Santa Rosa for several years before moving to Fort Sumner in 1999. He was currently employed by the Wertheim Cattle Company west of Fort Sumner. Manuel was an exceptional team roper who participated in every roping or rodeo he was able to attend. Survivors include his wife Maribel Dominguez; two sons Noel and Alan, a daughter Emily of the family home. His parents Eluterio and Margarita Dominguez of Santa Rosa; two brothers Armando Dominguez and Ramon Navarette, three Sisters Maria Elena Dominguez, Patricia Dominguez, and Alicia Dominguez all of Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico. Also surviving are many other relatives and friends. A wake service was held on Saturday night from the family home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, September 10, 2000 from the Christ Full Gospel Church in Fort Sumner with Rev. Mike Teeter and Sister Teresita Garcia officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jaime Salgado, Carlos Almendarez, Eduardo Rodriguez, Joe Sena, Pete Romero, Mike Muniz, Roberto Nunez, and Leroy Gutierrez. All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
