Deluvino Chavez Jr.

Deluvino Chavez, Jr. 59 of Albuquerque died Sunday, October 7, 2001 at Presbyterian Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born May 6, 1942 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Deluvino Chavez and the former Rosa Griego. He was reared and attended school at Puerto De Luna and Santa Rosa, NM. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 7, 1961. Following his honorable discharge he served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 28 years. Deluvino was employed as a ramp server for Trans World Airlines for over 33 years at Chicago, St. Louis, Houston, and currently at the Albuquerque Sunport. Deluvino was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother Domingo Chavez. Deluvino was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be missed by his wife, Patricia (Monahan) Chavez of Albuquerque; son Joe Chavez two grandchildren Natalie Chavez and Joseph Chavez all of Chicago, ILL; five brothers Celestino Chavez and wife Helga of Chicago; Max Chavez and wife Elsie of Farmington, NM; Joe and wife Emma Chavez of Santa Fe, NM; Trinidad and wife Toni Chavez of Santa Rosa, NM; Frank and wife Jane Chavez of Las Vegas, NM; three sisters Mary and husband Robert Cordova of Santa Rosa, NM; Diane and husband Horacio Martinez of Santa Fe, NM; and Florence Campos of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, many friends and co-workers. Rosary services will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2001 from St. Rose of Lima Parish in Santa Rosa; Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 11, 2001 from Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Puerto De Luna, NM. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30 P.M. from the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pallbearers will include Deluvino Joe Chavez, Kenneth Cordova, Miguel Martinez, Francisco Chavez, Preston Haultz, D.J. Sanchez, Larry Chavez, Mica Patterson, Joseph Fulbright, and Horacio Martinez. Honorary bearers will be Rene DeJager, Joann Hutedo, Lisa Chavez, Rene Escubal, Loretta Chavez, Desirae Sanchez, Roberta Cordova, Michelle Ortiz, Pamela Spalding, Lena Latti, Juanita Lovato, and Lisa Campbell.
