Melquiadez Jaramillo

Melquiadez Jaramillo, 91 a longtime Duran, NM resident died Thursday, January 13, 2000 at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque following an illness. Mr. Jaramillo was born September 7, 1908 in Pinos Wells, NM to the home of Liberato and Mauricia (Sanchez) Jaramillo. He was reared and attended school at Pinos Wells and Duran, NM. He was a ranch hand for many years and worked on area ranches in the Duran and Encino area. He was a member of the St. Joseph Society at Pinos Wells and a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Duran. His parents; two brothers Filomeno Jaramillo, Eliseo Jaramillo, and a sister Juanita J. Rodarte preceded him in death. Survivors include one sister, Dionesia Madril of Duran along with several nieces and nephews. Rosary devotional services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, January 16, 2000 from St. John the Baptist Parish in Duran. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 17th from the church at 11:00 A.M. with Father Patrick Duffy, Celebrant of the Mass. Burial will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Duran. Pallbearers will include Dan Jaramillo, Gilbert Rodarte, Sam Madril, Thomas McCracken, Serapio Jaramillo, and Joe Madril.
