Alfredo Flores, born on June 2, 1935, departed this world on July 7, 2026. His passing leaves a profound absence in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Alfredo’s life spanned over ninety-one years, years marked by steadfast devotion to his family and friends, and by the deep connections he maintained within his community. Those fortunate enough to have been close to him recall a man whose quiet strength and enduring kindness made a difference in everyday moments and in the lives he touched.
Alfredo was raised in Puerto De Luna, where he also attended school. He graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1953. Following his service to the country in the US Army, Alfredo worked for the US Postal Service in Santa Fe. He later returned to Puerto De Luna, where he farmed and ranched. He was a life-long parishioner at Nuestra Señora Del Refugio Catholic Church, and was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus.
In his spare time, Alfredo enjoyed painting, he played the harmonica, he was an avid card player--who enjoyed gambling, and he was a Santa Rosa Lions fan, as well as a Raiders fan.
Alfredo is mourned and lovingly remembered by his brother, Joe Robert Flores; sisters-in-law, Zulema, Linora, and Eloisa Flores; and by numerous nephews and nieces who cherished his presence and admired his wisdom. The circle of those who now grieve this loss extends to family, friends, and neighbors, all of whom shared in the warmth of Alfredo’s generosity and gentle spirit.
He is reunited in rest with his beloved parents, Jose Pablo and Romana (Chavez) Flores; brothers, Alfonso, Pablo Jr., Santiago, Luis, and Gilbert Flores; and his sister, Flora Valverde. The memory of these cherished family members, together again, brings comfort to those who remain.
Alfredo’s journey through life can be traced through the many relationships he cultivated and the unwavering loyalty he showed those around him. As a brother, uncle, family member, friend, and neighbor, he sustained connections that endured over the decades. His family recalls countless gatherings enlivened by Alfredo’s presence, quiet acts of compassion, and enduring love.
