Alfredo Roybal

Alfredo Roybal, 85 of Vaughn, NM, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 18, 2022. Alfredo was born on November 6, 1936 in Aguilar, NM to Vidal Roybal and Andrellita (Gomez) Roybal. Alfredo met and married Orphela Madrid, and were married 49 years. They made their home in Vaughn, where they raised their family. Alfredo was a determined worker, who always gave 110% to his job. He was employed by the Eugenio Perez Ranch, he was a custodian for the Vaughn Schools, he also worked for Hanson Aggregate WRP, Inc. and as a security guard for Mountain States Construction. Most recently, Alfredo worked as a maintenance and grounds keeper for Oak Tree Inn in Vaughn. After retiring, Alfredo enjoyed going to the casinos, however his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alfredo is preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws: Manuel and Elena Madrid, his son: Ernesto Roybal, his sister: Carolina Castillo, his brother: Salomon Pacheco and Godsons: Vidal Roybal and Rudy Gomez. Alfredo is survived by his wife: Orphela, his daughter: Carla Lopez, grandchildren: Analisa Abeyta, Ethan Shephard, Meghan Gutierrez, Tatyana Gutierrez, Anjelica Gutierrez, and Mykayla Roybal, great-grandchildren: Kaz Odeye, Eliana Salazar and Evielynn Salazar. He is also survived by his sister: Virginia Gutierrez, brothers: Benito Roybal and Adino Roybal and Goddaughter: Felicia Allman, as well as many nephews, nieces, family and friends. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by a Communion Service will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 10am at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Vaughn, with Deacon Marvin Marquez officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn, with Analisa Abeyta, Ethan Shephard, Meghan Gutierrez, Tatyana Gutierrez, Anjelica Gutierrez, Mykayla Roybal, Kaz Odeye, Eliana Salazar and Evielynn Salazar serving as Urn Bearers.
