Amanda Myra Aguilar, 47 of Rio Communities/Belen, New Mexico passed away at Kindred Hospital in Albuquerque following an illness. She was born November 14, 1975 in Albuquerque to Jose "Junior" and Carol (Gallegos) Aguilar.
Amanda attended Mountain View Elementary, Harrison Middle School, and Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque. As a young lady she worked for Pizza Hut, Long John Silver, and for several years as an Intake Officer for Sandia Laboratory in Albuquerque. She was a longtime member of San Jose Catholic Church in Albuquerque.
Amanda enjoyed reading and crocheting. Her favorite colors were red, black, and silver. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys football team. She especially enjoyed and loved her family, her children, granddaughter, nieces and nephews.
Amanda is preceded in death by her mother Carol Gallegos on September 21, 2013, and two uncles Joaquin Aguilar and Pablo Aguilar.
Survivors include her father Jose "Junior" Aguilar and his wife Lura of Albuquerque, two children, a daughter Arianna Aguilar of Denver, Colorado, and a son Eli Lucero of Albuquerque, one granddaughter Aria Aguilar of Denver. Also surviving are two sisters Anitra Alderete (James) of Peralta, NM and Selina Aguilar of Rio Communities along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has taken place. Holy Rosary and a funeral Mass will be held at 8:30am Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 820 Broadway Blvd, SE, Albuquerque, NM with Father Bijoy officiating.
