Bea Killough

April 20, 1934 — October 3, 2021

Bea Killough was 87 when she passed after a great life. She had been living in Wimberley, Texas for the past 3 years with her daughter JoBeth Killough. Previous to her move to Wimberley, she had been in Fort Sumner, New Mexico where she leaves many memories. Bea was born on a farm in the Fort Sumner valley on April 20, 1934 to R.N. (Polie) and Clemmie Lowman. She graduated from FS schools in 1952. On August 20, 1953 she married Alan Joe Killough and moved to the family ranch 21 miles North of Fort Sumner. They raised 3 daughters and lived the ranch life for 28 years. In 1981, they moved into the village of Fort Sumner but continued their ranching operations for many more years. Bea was very active in the Fort Sumner community serving on her Methodist church boards, attending the Senior Center and serving on its board, playing bridge, and having coffee dates with her many friends. Bea enjoyed being with people and socializing. Bea loved to travel and loved even more being with her grandchildren. She will be missed by many. Bea leaves behind her 3 daughters: Leola and Willie Patterson of Fort Sumner, NM, Debbie and J.T. Morgan of Blanco, TX, and JoBeth Killough of Wimberley, TX. In addition, she leaves behind her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Chris and Katie Morgan (Eleanor and Ben) of Houston, TX, Hadley and Heather Patterson (Layla) of Fort Sumner, NM, Travis and Megan Morgan (Magnus and Azalea) of Alameda, CA, Garrett and Melissa Morgan (Harper) of Gun Barrel City, TX, Tobea and Zach Ross (expecting twins) of Abilene, TX, Ali Morgan of Austin, TX, and Meg Morgan of Austin, TX.
