Clara Romero

Clara Romero, 84 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 24, 2022 at Guadalupe County Hospital. Clara was born on August 12, 1938 in Santa Rosa, NM to Leondro Pacheco and Ignacita (Montoya) Pacheco. Clara was raised in Santa Rosa, where she also attended school. A lifelong resident of Santa Rosa, Clara was also a parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Clara was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. Clara also enjoyed going to the casinos and visiting with her friends. Clara is preceded in death by her parents, her children: Jerry Romero and Debra Romero, her Grandson: Jarrod Chavez, her granddaughters: Kayla and Karrie Moncayo and her life partner: Cele Garcia. Clara is survived by her children: Rita Romero, Michael Romero, Grace Chavez (Ernest), Donna Salas, Phillip Romero, Leslie Garcia and Cele Garcia and her siblings: Ernest Pacheco, Gilbert Pacheco, Mary Gutierrez and Josie Martinez. Clara is also survived by her grandchildren: Levi Chavez, II, Jeremy Romero, Adriana Romero, Amy Romero, Michael Romero, Dominic Chavez, Gilbert Chavez, Glenn Chavez, Marc Salas, Gary Salas, Claire Gomez, Dathion Gomez, Jessica Lucero, Stephanie Lucero, Lucas Campos, Elizabeth Higgins, Sofianna Moncayo, Cele Garcia, Jr., Julian Garcia, Karen Lucero and Karla Cave. Also surviving Clara is her Goddaughter: Louella Gutierrez. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 30, 2022 from 1-6pm, at Chavez Funeral Home, in Santa Rosa. Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by The Mass of Christian Burial, will be Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 10am at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa. Father Frederick Gruber will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Pallbearers will include: Dominic Chavez, Gilbert Chavez, Glenn Chavez, Marc Salas, Gary Salas, Dathion Gomez, Lucas Campos and Levi Chavez. Honorary Pallbearers are: Silver Chavez, Pat Velasquez, Levi Chavez, Sr., Michael Mata, Jarrod Chavez, Jacob Salazar, Andres Gomez, David Langlois and Drew Quintana.
