Daren Scott Baca

Daren Scott Baca, 54 of Tucumcari, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

Daren was born on June 9, 1969 in Tucumcari, NM to Paul Baca and Virginia Martinez.  Daren was raised in Tucumcari, where he attended school and graduated from Tucumcari High School.   A life-long resident of Tucumcari, Daren was a mechanic at Chris and Tony’s Garage, he was also a handyman, and a parishioner at St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

Daren was a grill master, who loved to barbeque, he enjoyed working on vehicles and converting pedal bicycles to gas powered bicycles, however his greatest joy came from the time he spent with family and friends.

Daren is preceded in death by his father: Paul Baca, paternal grandmother: Vicenta Baca, maternal grandparents: Jose and Julianita Martinez, his uncles: Gerald Martinez, Mike Martinez, Sam Baca, and Crestino Muniz and his aunts: Celia Garcia and Yole Sandoval.

Daren is survived by his mother, Virginia Martinez, his children: Reyna Baca and Antonio Baca, and his siblings: Leslie Pacheco, Mark Baca, Paul Baca, Matthew Baca, Karla Baca and Jaci Baca.  Daren is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.

Burial of cremains will take place at a later date at the Montoya Cemetery, in Montoya, NM, with Leslie Pacheco, Tony Muniz, Patrick Baca, Joseph Martinez, Gerald Martinez, Pete Baca, Steven Jones, John Ramirez and David Arnett serving as Urn Bearers.
