Debra Lopez

Debra V. Lopez, 62 of Santa Rosa, NM passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at Clovis Health Care and Rehabilitation Center following an illness. She was born July 27, 1964 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Jose D. and Isabel (Salas) Lopez. 

Debra grew up in Santa Rosa and attended Santa Rosa Schools, graduating with SRHS Class of 1982. She worked at various restaurants in Santa Rosa including Dairy Bar Drive Inn, Pizza Hut, and Dairy Queen. She also worked as at Los Amigos Assisted Living Center. For several years she worked as a caregiver for her aunt, Rita Salas. 

Debra loved the time she spent with her nieces, nephews and family, many of them, she helped to raise. She was lovingly known to them as "Aunt Bette". Debra was a parishioner at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting, and watching movies.

Debra is preceded in death by her parents. 

Survivors include two sisters, Judy Chavez of Santa Rosa, Barbara Lopez (Tommy Campos) of Santa Rosa. Nieces and Nephews, Delano Chavez, Vicente Chavez, Dennica Chavez, Larissa Campos, Tomas (Melissa) Campos. Great nieces and nephews, Mikaya Robles, Lukas Chavez, Jenekah Chavez, Santiago Campos, Leticia Campos, Liyana Campos, Darwin Zambrano, Isabel Zambrano, Domingo Zambrano, her godson Jarren Storey, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Cremation will take place. A memorial graveside service will be scheduled.
