Demecio Lucero, Jr.

Decemcio Lucero, Jr., 85 of Tecolotito, NM passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2021 at Guadalupe County Hospital in Santa Rosa, NM. Demecio was born on February 29, 1936 to Demecio Lucero, Sr. and Manuelita (Salas) Lucero in Tecolotito. Demecio was raised in Tecolotito and attended school in Tecolotito. Demecio married Candelaria Aragon at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, where he was also a parishioner. Demecio was a life-long resident of Tecolotito where he also ranched. Demecio is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ecipio Lucero and Alfonso Lucero and a sister; Dora Lucero. Demecio is survived by his wife Candelaria Lucero of the family home, his sons; Ted Lucero of Tucumcari, NM, Joey Lucero of Tecolotito, NM and Jamey Lucero and girlfriend; Olivia of Tecolotito, NM and his sister; Sara Rodriguez (Albis) of Texas, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren as well a numerous nephews, nieces, family, relatives and friends. Visitation for Demecio will be Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 12-3pm at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be at 3pm at Chavez Funeral Home Chapel in Santa Rosa. Cremation will follow with burial of cremains at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Tecolotito at a later date. Urn Bearers will be; Ted Lucero, Joey Lucero, Jamey Lucero, Brandon Lucero, Juan Salas, Samuel Salas and James Rodarte. Services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
