Eddie Abeyta

July 12, 1937 — December 18, 2020

Eddie Abeyta, 83, of Vaughn, New Mexico went to be with our Lord on December 18, 2020. Eddie grew up, lived, and raised his family in Pinos Wells, NM where he loved running his cattle ranch. He later moved his family to Vaughn and had lived there since. Eddie was a member and President of the Sociedad de San Jose at Pinos Wells Catholic Church for 50 years. The annual fiestas there were his pride and joy. Eddie is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jesus and Dulcinea Abeyta, and his older brother Leandro. He is survived by his sister Josie Uher, his cousin, Sam Lucero, who he considered his brother, and his four children: Daniel Abeyta and his partner Veronica, Lisa and her husband JR Romo, Karla and her husband Aaron Dow, and his son Paul Abeyta. Grandchildren: Heather Sanchez and her husband Kevin, Danielle Panebouf, Analisa Abeyta, Skylar Abeyta Sanchez, Adriana and husband, Matthew Hidalgo, Vincent Madrid, Baltazar (Buzzy) Romo, Diego, Karina, Maya, and Ricca Dow, Leandra Ogas and her husband Michael, Dericke Romo and Adrienne Campos. His great grandchildren include Mariah, Angel, and David Sanchez, Quiana, Honey, and Hennessey Hidalgo, Christian Madrid, Arianna and Aiden Ogas, Mia Romo and his two great, great granddaughters, Aliah and Miaa Mendes. Eddie will be greatly missed by his community and his family, and they take comfort that he fought a good fight, believed he would join our Lord in heaven, and was a good man on this earth.
