Erminio R. Chavez

Erminio R. Chavez passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 21, 1947 in Santa Rosa, NM to Eloy Chavez and Agneda (Lucero) Chavez, Erminio was raised in Santa Rosa where he attended school and graduated from Santa Rosa High School. On August 3, 1968, Erminio married the former Corrine Ulibarri at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. In his career, Erminio worked for Conoco Gas Stations in Santa Rosa and as a Diesel Mechanic for Truck Stops of America—retiring in 2012.

A faithful parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima, Erminio was known for helping family and friends, however his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family.

Preceding Erminio in death are his parents: Eloy and Agneda Chavez, mother-in-law: Andrea Lopez, father and mother in-law: Manuel and Viola Ulibarri, maternal grandparents: Leopoldo and Tomasita Lucero, paternal grandparents: Manuel and Rosaida Chavez and brothers in-law: Gerald Baca, Jerry Gutierrez, Tim Ulibarri, Thomas Ulibarri and Jerry Ulibarri.

Surviving Erminio are his wife: Corrine, his children: Jackie (Carlos) Zamora and Eric Chavez, grandchildren: Phillip (Gloria) Sierra, Nathaniel (Angel) Sierra, Kiarra Zamora, Felicia Chavez (Ubaldo), Addyson Chavez and Jordan Zamora (Celina), great-grandchildren: Haven Sierra and Mila Zamora, siblings: Max (Dolores) Lucero, Isabel (Joe) Chavez, Julia (Mele) Padilla, Jane Baca and Geraldine (Mike) Young, In-laws: Sylvia Gutierrez, Yolanda (Diego) Acosta, Margaret (Alfonso) Rodriguez, Angela (Teddy) Martinez, Shirley (Faustin) Sena, Violet (Herman) Abeyta, Joann (Gene) Gutierrez, Eileen (Art) Porras, Leroy Ulibarri, Peter (Eileen) Ulibarri and Matthew (Emily) Ulibarri as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 10AM to 1PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, May 27, 2025 beginning at 2PM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, with Father Sotero Sena officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa, with Peter Ulibarri, Matthew Ulibarri, Carlos Zamora, Nathaniel Sierra, Phillip Sierra, Peter Padilla, Gene Gutierrez, Carlos Chavez and Ricky Gutierrez serving as Pallbearers.
