Filemon Baca

Filemon Baca, 60 of Amarillo, Texas, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Filemon was born on November 8,1961 in La Loma, NM. Filemon worked 20 plus years in Law Enforcement with the New Mexico Department of Corrections. Most recently he worked as a Security Officer in Amarillo, Texas. Filemon worked many hours and was greatly appreciated by those who knew and worked with him. He will be dearly missed by his many friends and coworkers. Filemon is preceded in death by his mother: Eulalia Baca, his sister: Olympia Seals, brother-in-law: Leroy Pacheco, his maternal grandparents: Manuel and Eulalia Lucero, his paternal grandparents: Lorenzo and Manuelita Baca, his uncles: Salvador Lucero, Ben Lucero, Bonefacio Lucero and Crisensio Lucero, his aunts: Victoria Ortiz, Louisa Tenorio and Mary Lucero, as well as many other loved ones. Filemon is survived by his father: Julian Baca, sister: Carmen Pacheco, brother: Julian Baca, nephew: Enrique Jaramillo, nieces: Peggy Romero and Josephine Pruitt as well as many other great-nieces and nephews. Filemon is also survived by his very dear friend: Daniel Palomino, whom he loved like a son and his Godchildren: John Paul Romero and Valerie Palomino. Filemon was a kind, caring person who was always willing to help in any way he could. He touched many lives with his kindness and selflessness as well as his sense of humor. Filemon loved the outdoors and keeping busy, however, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his loved ones. “We will all miss him dearly and may he find the rest and peace he most definitely deserves.” Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10am to 12pm at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will begin at 12 noon at Chavez Funeral Home. Following cremation, burial will be at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Las Vegas, NM.
