Fr. Antonio Mondragon

Fr. Antonio Mondragon, a devoted servant of the Catholic Church, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at the age of 87, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Born on August 14, 1938, Fr. Mondragon dedicated his life to faith and ministry, primarily serving the community as a beloved priest.

After a lifelong commitment to his vocation, he retired and made his home in Anton Chico, New Mexico, where he continued to touch the lives of many with his warmth, compassion, and wisdom. Known for his unwavering dedication to his parishioners, he provided spiritual guidance and support through both joyous and challenging times.

Fr. Mondragon will be remembered for his kind-hearted nature, deep spirituality, and his ability to create a welcoming environment for all. His legacy will undoubtedly carry on through the countless lives he influenced and the community he nurtured throughout his esteemed career.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, February 9, 2026, beginning at 10AM at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico.  Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Anton Chico.
