Frances A. Lopez

Frances A. Lopez, 78 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Vecinos Sanos Assisted Living in Santa Rosa. Frances was born to the home of Lucio Abeyta and Arcelia (Flores) Abeyta on July 30, 1942 in Puerto De Luna, NM.  She was reared in Puerto De Luna where she also attended school.  She married Kenneth Lopez in Santa Rosa and later worked as a waitress for several restaurants including the Comet, Truck Stops of America, Shawford and Bordens Truck Stop before retiring in 1993. Frances enjoyed playing solitaire, listening to Spanish music, dancing and cooking, however, her greatest joy came from the time she spent with her family. Frances is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth in 1995, her parents-in-law; Santos and Mela Lopez, brother; Jose L. “Chio” Abeyta and sisters; Mary Rose Abeyta, Margie Abeyta and Josie Pacheco. Frances is survived by her children; Donna (Jorge) Rivera of El Paso, TX, Shawn (Nancy) Lopez of Santa Rosa, NM, Raul (Jennifer) Lopez of Santa Rosa, NM and Pablita (Gilbert) Baca of Tecolotito, NM.  She is also survived by her sister; Helen Abeyta of Santa Rosa and brother; Herman Abeyta of Santa Rosa, 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous family and friends. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Monday, September 16, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Rose, officiated by Father Christopher Bernabe.  Interment of cremains will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Urn Bearers are; Kenneth Lopez, Jorge Rivera, Alex Lopez, Gabriel Esquibel, Markus Baca, Jonathan Garcia, Paul Pacheco, Cameron Sena, Jovanna Austin and Joe Garcia.  Honorary Urn Bearers are; Araya Baca, Revee Baca, Miranda Morales, Amanda Romero, Maria Rivera, Katrina Lopez, Daniel Ortiz, Bryson Lopez, Chelsea Sena, Alayna Lopez and Mela Hing.
