Fred Allen Stieg

Fred Allen Stieg, 96, a resident of Conchas Dam, NM passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Vecinos Sanos Assisted Living in Santa Rosa, NM where he currently resided. Mr. Stieg was born on April 20, 1922, in Carlsbad, NM to the home of Fred J. and Pauline Anthony Stieg. He grew up in Carlsbad and attended school in Clovis. During World War II Fred worked in the shipyards in Long Beach, CA. He also worked for the railroad and was an auto mechanic. Fred is survived by his wife of 76 years Alma Christine Stieg, children Fred, Bill, Polly, and Martha along with their spouses, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; along with many nephews and nieces.Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018, at 2 PM at the Elida Cemetery in Elida, NM.Pallbearers will be Allen Stieg, Bob Macan, Brad Stieg, Kelley Spinks, Jonathan Spinks, Dean Miller and David Stieg.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation is made to the charity of your choice in Mr. Stieg's honor.Services have been entrusted to Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
