Garry Gerald Salas

Garry Gerald Salas, a beloved resident of Santa Rosa, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 7, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on April 18, 1958, in Santa Rosa, Garry lived a life filled with hard work, family, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors.

Garry's career began at Rivera Construction, where he honed his skills as a diligent worker before becoming a butcher at T and D Grocery Store. His dedication to his profession was matched only by his commitment to his family and friends, as he was always known as a handy man, willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A proud graduate of Santa Rosa High School, Class of 1977, Garry was deeply connected to his roots. He enjoyed the serenity of nature, engaging in hobbies like hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Garry cherished moments spent in nature and shared a profound love for his animals.

Garry is survived by his wife, Donna Salas; sons, Marc (Jessica) Salas and Garry Salas; granddaughter, Joee Salas; and brothers, Marcos (Teresa) Salas, Randy Salas, and Dicky Salas. He leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, family, and friends who will forever hold cherished memories of his kindness and spirit.

Garry joins his deceased family members, including his parents, Estanislado and Vicenta Salas; twin brother, Larry Harold Salas; brothers, Tommy and Eddie Salas; and sisters, Priscilla and Rita Salas, as well as Isabel Lopez.

 Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed immediately by the funeral Mass will be Friday, December 12, 2025 beginning at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.  Father Jacob Romero will be celebrating the service. Interment of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, with Marc Salas, Jacob Salas, Adam Salas, Eddie Salas, Austin Higgins and Lorenzo Garcia serving as Urn Bearers.
