Gloria Esther Donovan

Gloria Donovan, a beloved member of the Tucumcari community, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the age of 76. Surrounded by her loving family, Gloria left a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering support that will be remembered by all who knew her.

Born on April 19, 1949, in Tucumcari, NM, Gloria graduated from Tucumcari High School, embarking on a lifelong journey of service to her community. She devoted 15 years as a Behavioral Management Specialist with Teambuilders and contributed 22 years of her life as an Election Clerk, tirelessly helping to uphold the democratic process. Her commitment to her work and the people she served reflected her caring nature and dedication to those around her.

As a parishioner at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Gloria found strength and solace in her faith, which was a guiding force throughout her life. She cherished her time spent with family and friends, often enjoying the simple pleasures of cooking, embroidering, and playing bingo. However, it was her family that brought her the greatest joy.

Gloria is survived by her devoted children: Willie Zacarias and his wife Kori, Victor Jory Donovan, and Franchesca Donovan. The love she shared will continue through her grandchildren: Yasmine and Diego Donovan, Draven and Scott Lee Donovan, Brianna Donovan, Jonathan and Izaak Zacarias, and Paul and Alexis Zacarias, with the excitement of a great-granddaughter on the way. Gloria held dear the relationships she nurtured with her siblings, including Doris King and her family—Pam King, Kenny Hanson, Debbie and Tommy Blea—and Irma Zacarias and her family—Gerard and Amy Zacarias, Renatta and Josh Gurley, as well as Nacho Zacarias and his family, Rose and her three daughters. Additionally, she is remembered by her sister-in-law, Gloria Zacarias, numerous nephews and nieces, and friends, all of whom felt the warmth of her love and generosity.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Zacarias and Susie (Garcia) Zacarias, and siblings Virginia Baca, Ralph Quintana, Willie Quintana, and Wagon Paul Zacarias, who now welcome her into eternal peace.

Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 2-6PM at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa.

Services are pending at this time and will be announced when finalized.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa, 923 S. Third St., Santa Rosa, NM 88435.  575-472-3369.

Gloria Donovan’s legacy will endure in the hearts of her family and friends, and her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched with her empathy, wisdom, and unconditional love. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
