Jason J Trujillo

Jason Jake Trujillo, 47 of Tucumcari, NM passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at his home following an extended illness. He was born February 1, 1974 in Farmington, New Mexico the son of Wilfredo and Jeanette (Welch) Trujillo. Jason grew up in Las Vegas, Hobbs, and Tucumcari. He graduated from high school in Hobbs, NM. Jason was a loving father and spent his life caring for his special needs son, Matthew. Jason enjoyed working with his hands, woodworking and working in his yard. He enjoyed spending time with family and his home was a gathering place for all his cousins. Jason is part of the large Welch family. He enjoyed playing with his dogs. Jason is preceded in death by his father Willie Trujillo in 2021, and his maternal grandparents Ernest and Olympia Welch. A loving father, son, brother, and cousin, Jason is survived by his son Matthew Trujillo, his mother Jeanette Trujillo-Brandt, a brother Michael Williamson, two sisters Janet Cain and Josette Watts (Milton Brown) all of Tucumcari, New Mexico. Cremation has taken place, the family will schedule a memorial for Jason in the spring. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N. Fifth Street, Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
