Joe Allen Ford, 61 of Clovis, NM passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Plains Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born October 28, 1959 in Nottingham, England. His family lived at Ramstein AFB Germany for four years before moving to Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque in1973. Joe grew up in Albuquerque where he attended school. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force as an Electrical Power Protection Specialist. He was honorably discharged on June 10, 1985. Joe married Julie Ann Pena on March 13, 1998 in Albuquerque where they made their home until 2003. Joe worked for America West Airlines at the Albuquerque Sun Port, he also worked as a manager for Quan's Automotive, and Enchantment Auto Collision. Joe and Julie moved to Clovis in 2003 where he worked as an adjuster for Farmer's Insurance Company. He later worked as a security officer at Cannon Air Force Base and at Cannon Air Force Base Automotive Department. Since 2015 he has been employed for the Clovis Municipal Schools, he worked as a security officer for a time before joining their maintenance department. Joe was a devout member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a Youth Group Coordinator, served on the Movie Ministry, he organized a men's prayer group, The Knights of the Altar of Saint Joseph, and was a member of the CAFB Knights of Columbus Council. Joe loved to pray and evangelize to people. A loving husband, son, father, brother and uncle he will be missed by his family. Survivors include his wife Julie Ann Ford of Clovis, four children Desiree Ford of Emmett, Idaho, Tyler Ford, Dillon Ford, and Mary Ford all of Clovis. Also surviving is his mother Gisela Reeves and husband Don of Williamsburg, NM, his father Jerry Ford of Rio Rancho, NM, two sisters Jeanette Reichert and husband Harvey of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and Karen Wagy of Williamburg, NM. Other survivors include his mother in law Virginia Pena of Albuquerque, four nephews Lee Lay, Kevin Murray, Preston Wagy, Brandon Wagy and one niece Kassi Wagy along with a host of other relatives and many friends. Due to the current Department of Health guidelines, services are limited to family members. Please keep Joe and his family in your prayers. You may leave a tribute, a note of condolence or sign the family guest book at www.chavezfuneralhome.com Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Parish in Clovis, New Mexico with Father Christopher Martinez and Father Michael Niemczak officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. Rick Tenorio, Marcos Gallegos, Robert Pena, Tyler Ford, Andrew Page, and Lee Lay will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
