Joe M. Sisneros

Joe M. Sisneros, age 84, passed away surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at home in Santa Rosa, NM. Joe was born to Severiano U. Sisneros and Altagracia (Romero) Sisneros on November 18, 1935, in Colonias, NM. Joe was a professional surveyor and owner of Geometron Survey Systems in Santa Rosa, NM and Las Vegas, NM. Joe, a professional surveyor, was registered in New Mexico, Arizona, and Oklahoma. Prior to opening his practice in Santa Rosa, Joe worked for over 22 years as Chief Cadastral Surveyor for the Cibola National Forest, U.S. Forest Region Three in Albuquerque, where he received an Excellence in Surveying Award. Joe was also the President of the Association of Land Surveyors and Mappers of the United States of America. Joe received his mathematics and language education at Josephinum College in Worthington, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, and from the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Professional Land Surveyors. Joe was an avid guitarist and musician and was also an award-winning artist and painter. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, a son; Joe Raul Sisneros, a brother; J. Anthony Sisneros, and sisters; Zenaida Bridges and Mary Sisneros. Joe is survived by his children; Giovanna (Jake) Jaramillo, Jude (Olivia) Sisneros, and Timothy Sisneros. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by his siblings; Vera (Felipe) Sanchez, Severiano (Fedelia) Sisneros, Hope Sisneros, and Tomas (Margie) Sisneros, as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, July 23, 2020 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, NM with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Interment followed at San Jose Cemetery in Colonias, NM. Pallbearers included Jeremy Sisneros, little Jeremy Sisneros, Jonathan Sisneros, little Jonathan Sisneros, Tomas Sisneros, Daniel Sisneros, Jake Jaramillo and Daniel Chavez.
