John P. Sanchez

John P. Sanchez passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at his residence in Pecos, NM.

Born February 3, 1957 to Jose Benedito Sanchez and Rose Celia (Olivas) Sanchez in Santa Rosa, NM, John graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1976. He served as a Service Advisor for various auto dealerships in Northern NM before dedicating himself to being the primary caregiver for his daughter Tiffinie.

John’s passions included fishing, hunting, supporting local sports teams, and actively participating in his granddaughters’ activities.

Throughout his life, John formed numerous enduring friendships with those he met.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Jose Benedito Sanchez and Rose Sanchez, as well as his sisters: Patsy Keithly, Ida Sanchez and Marylou Wright.

John is survived by his wife Dorothy; his children Tiffinie and Jose Miguel (Amy); grandchildren Sarah Sanchez, Emily Sanchez, Nathan Sites, Ayden Sites, Gavin Sites, Kameron Sites and Waylan, sisters Annie McGuinnes, Dorothy Yokum and Olivia Martinez; brothers Richard Sanchez (Jane), Benny Sanchez, in-laws; Romelia Roybal, Josephine Arguello (Jose), Rudy Roybal (Mary), Jesus Roybal, Sr. and David Roybal, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, May 21, 2025 beginning at 10AM at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, with Father Jacob Romero officiating.

Interment of cremains will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, with Jose Miguel Sanchez, nieces and nephews serving as Urn Bearers.
