Julian Baca, 91 of La Loma, NM, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, April 17, 2023.
Julian was born on April 8, 1932 in Dahlia, NM to Lorenzo Baca and Manuelita (Lucero) Baca. Julian was raised in Dahlia, where he also attended school. Julian was a butcher and rancher and a longtime resident of El Llano del Medio. Julian was a life-long Catholic and parishioner at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico, NM. A devoted Penitente, Julian was a member of Los Hermanos de la Sociedad de Nuestro Padre Jesus de Nazareno.
In his spare time, Julian enjoyed farming and ranching and fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed art and loved corridos and alabados.
Julian is preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Eulalia, son: Filemon Baca, son-in-law: Leroy Pacheco, brothers: Bonefacio Baca, Eloy Baca, Avenicio Baca, Bernardino Baca, Elizario Baca, Lorenzo Baca and Delfinio Baca and sisters: Adelia Encinias, Prestildonia Lucero, Esquipula Perea and Josefina Sanchez.
Julian is survived by his children: Carmen Pacheco and Julian Baca, grandchildren: Peggy Romero, Josephine Pruitt and Enrique Jaramillo, great-grandchildren: Leann Pacheco, Decota Romero, Shahiyena Baca and John Paul Romero, and sisters: Andrea Armijo and Margaret Hogen.
Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary, immediately followed by a Communion/Funeral Service will be Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 12 noon, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Services will be officiated by Deacon Marvin Marquez.
Interment will follow at the Dilia Cemetery, in Dilia, NM with Roy Sanchez, Eliot Bachicha, Enrique Jaramillo, Decota Romero, Bernard Baca and Adam Blake serving as Pallbearers.
