Junie Elizabeth Davis, 69 of Fort Sumner passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, October 12, 2019 with her family at her bedside. She was born December 3, 1949 in Mesa, AZ the daughter of Roy Clyde and Annie Lucille Bivins. Junie attended Oracle Elementary School, and graduated from San Manuel High School in San Manuel, AZ. She married Larry Davis on May 29, 1970 in Tucson, AZ. They made their home in Fort Sumner in 1983. Junie attended Clovis Community College where she received her Nursing Degree. She worked long term care at the Pecos Valley Care Center in Fort Sumner, worked at De Baca General Hospital, and for 16 years worked as a nurse at the Guadalupe County Correctional Facility in Santa Rosa. She was raised a Baptist, and enjoyed suspense, thriller, sci-fi, and romance movies. She loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren and her dogs. Junie is preceded in death by her father Roy Bivins in 1995, her mother Annie Lucille Bivins in 2011, a sister Rachel Gonzales, and brother Lenny Bivins. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Junie will be missed by her husband Larry Davis of the home in Fort Sumner, a son Chad Davis (Victoria) of Hesperus, CO, two daughters Ashley Davis Kemp (Stephen) of Fort Sumner, and Robyn Davis of Clayton, NM, nine grandchildren,  Darienne Sambrano (Chase) of Denver, CO, Ethan Davis of Yorktown, VA, Luke Davis of Tacoma, WA, Amy Davis of Hesperus, CO, Chance Thomson of Clayton, Noah Thomson of Clovis, D'gin Thomson of Clayton, Zeydin Abeyta of Clayton, Sayge Davis of Clayton, also surviving is one brother Roy Bivins (Sharon) of Breckenridge, TX, two sisters Phyllis Diaz De Valdes (Chris) of San Manuel, AZ, Juanita Roybal (Andy) of Rio Rancho, a brother in law Greg Parker (Betsy) of Kingman, AZ, a sister in law Diane Parker of Oracle, AZ along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Cremation will take place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N. Fifth Street, Fort Sumner, New Mexico.
