Kaleb Ray DeWitt, 28 of Bovina, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo. Kaleb was born in Portales on February 15, 1992, he was raised in New Mexico and Colorado. Kaleb attended school at Floyd Elementary School, Woodland Park Middle School, and high school in Fort Sumner, graduating with the Class of 2010. While living in Fort Sumner he worked at Rodeo Grill. Following graduation, he worked for Felty Construction and triple M Electric. He attended the Baptist Church. Kaleb loved to ride 4-wheelers and dirt bikes, he enjoyed cooking, spending time with his family and friends, playing with his nieces, camping and always having a bonfire going. He especially enjoyed going to the Pecos River and camping. Kaleb is preceded in death by grandparents Joseph Cortese in 2008, and Goldie Cortese in 2016. A loving son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend, Kaleb is survived by his mother Brenda Felty and her husband Joe of Clovis, Kaleb’s step father Jeff Cortese and wife Cathy of Orange County, CA, his father Noel Ray DeWitt of Pampa, TX, two brothers Michael DeWitt and wife Chelsea of Bovina, TX, Joseph Cortese of Fresno, CA, a sister Mariah Cortese of Clovis, NM, his four special nieces Lexi, Rosie, Makayla DeWitt, and Sofia Cortese, grandparents Evelyn Byrd of Tucumcari, grandfather Terry Byrd and Lita of Floyd, and grandmother Annette Cortese of Palm Desert, CA along with numerous aunts, uncles, other family members and a host of friends. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic restrictions, Kaleb’s family is planning a private memorial service. Please keep the family in your prayers.
