Linda Turner

Linda Kathleen Turner, 79, of Fort Sumner passed away at her home on August 21, 2026. Linda was born February 8, 1947 in Kirksville, Missouri to the home of Walter Sterling Price and the former Joyce Elizabeth Farmer.  She was raised in Benton, Illinois and graduated from Benton High School with the class of 1964.

Linda lived in Missouri, Arizona, Texas, Clovis and made Fort Sumner her home in 1988. She married Roy Turner on March 11, 1996 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. Together the two enjoyed 30 years together in the Fort Sumner valley. 

Linda was an active member of the Church on the Hill. She cherished her church family. Linda enjoyed crocheting and oil painting. She also enjoyed spending time with her favorite horse, and caring for all the valley cats. 

Linda is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Joyce Price. She is survived by her husband Roy Turner of the family home in Fort Sumner, a son Robert Shaw (Misty) of Tucson, AZ, a daughter Karen Ciancio (Fred) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, three siblings a sister Martha Lisner (Charles) of Florida, two brothers Paul Sterling Price of Seattle, WA, and Walter Evan Price (Gayle) of Chandler, AZ along with six grandchildren Dominick Ciancio, Dylan Ciancio, Paige Ciancio, Alissa Allen (Cody), Kyleigh Trusty (Jacob), and Jared Shaw, on great grandchild Tatum along with other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 1 pm to 6 pm on Wednesday August 26, 2026 at Chavez Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 am Thursday August 27, 2026 at The Church on the Hill with Pastor Richard Terrell officiating.  Interment will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery.
