Lorraine Capitola White

Lorraine Capitola White, 90, of Fort Sumner, NM passed away January 18, 2026 at the Coronado Care Center in Portales, NM. Lorraine was born May 10, 1935 in Burlington, Washington to the home of Lester and Louise Dysart Runnells. She grew up in Bangor, Maine and attended school there.

Lorraine married John White in 1983 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Together the two of them made Fort Sumner their home in 1989.

Lorraine was a member of the Fort Sumner Church of Christ.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Louise Runnells.

Lorraine is survived by her husband John White of Fort Sumner, her friends, and her church family.

Memorial services will be at 2 pm, Sunday February 1, 2026 at the Fort Sumner Church of Christ with Mr. John Dansby officiating .
