Manuel Silva

Manuel Jr. Silva, 23 of Portales, New Mexico passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 in Portales. He was born March 6, 1996 in Los Angeles, CA the son of Manuel Silva and Myra Anne Abeyta. He attended schools in Fort Sumner. Manuel worked for a short time at Southwest Cheese Plant. He made his home in Portales in 2016.  Manuel attended The Church on The Hill in Fort Sumner.  He liked to write and make his own music, playing basketball, and spending time with his family especially his son, M.J. Manuel is survived by a son M.J. Silva of Portales, his mom Myra Abeyta of Clovis, his father Manuel Silva of California, one sister Glenda Duenas (Jose) of Clayton, four brothers Jerry Abeyta of Portales, Gonzalo Martinez (Minerva) of Lovington, Angel Abeyta (Tomonique) of Clovis, and Daniel Duenas of Clovis. Also surviving are his grandparents, Louis and Laura Abeyta of Taiban and Nick Aragon of Fort Sumner. Visitation hours will be Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Friday from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at the Chavez Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 21, 2019 at Fort Sumner Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chad Abeyta, Patrick Abeyta, Santiago Abeyta, Daniel Duenas, Angel Abeyta, and Ray Medrano. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 830 N.
