Maria Elena Madrid

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved mother, Maria Elena Madrid, who departed this life on June 5, 2025 at the age of 81.

Born on September 11, 1943 in Milagro, New Mexico, Maria Elena was a woman of grace, strength, and unwavering love. She dedicated her life to her family, offering compassion, wisdom, and encouragement to all who knew her. Her faith, kindness, and quiet resilience touched many lives and left a legacy that will endure.

Maria Elena was known for her warm heart, her gentle spirit, and her ability to make others feel seen and cherished. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with grandchildren, and always found time to share her love with those around her. Her presence brought peace and comfort wherever she went.

She is survived by her partner, Frank Delgado; children, Linda Dobbin and husband, Troy Dobbin, Andrew Madrid and wife, Agnes Madrid; grandchildren, Victoria Dobbin, Andrea Dobbin, Jacob Madrid and Angelica Maldonado; great-granddaughter, Atayah, who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Prudencio Castillo and Irene Castillo, her brothers Joe Gene Castillo and Manuel Castillo, sisters, Angie Jaramillo and Isabelita Castillo.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 10am to Noon at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa. A rosary to celebrate Maria Elena’s life will begin at Noon at Chavez Funeral Home. Family is invited to attend and share their memories and love.

Following the rosary, a graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Milagro, NM, with Father Jacob Romero officiating.

Her love was a gift that will never be forgotten. She was our rock, our guide, and our home. We will miss her deeply but take comfort in knowing she is at peace.
