Mary E. Sena

Holy Rosary and a funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 10, 2026 from St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn, New Mexico. Interment of cremains will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Vaughn.

Mary E. Sena, 84 of Rockport, Texas and a native of Vaughn, New Mexico passed away at her daughter's home in Socorro, NM on Friday evening, October 31, 2025 following an illness.

Mary was born February 15, 1941 in Vaughn, New Mexico to the home of Nicomades and Ponciana (Garcia) Griego. She was raised in Vaughn and attended Vaughn High School.

Mary made her home in Vaughn, NM, Lake Sumner, NM and Rockport, Texas. She was a business woman all of her life and owned and operated Mary's Barn in Vaughn, NM and Fisherman's Hideaway at Sumner Lake in Fort Sumner, NM. Mary enjoyed visiting with all her friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Bertha A. Griego, and two brothers, George Griego and Ray Griego.

Survivors include four children, daughter Nadine Blythe (Matthew) of Socorro, NM, three sons, Gary Chavez (Lorene) of Roswell, NM, Michael Chavez (Cindy) of Roswell, NM, and Zeke Chavez (Ann) of Rio Rancho, NM, one brother Nick Griego (Connie) of Albuquerque.
