Molly Valdez

Beloved mother and grandmother, Molly (Rael) Valdez, 74 of Vaughn, New Mexico passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in Albuquerque following an illness. She was born April 23, 1943 in Vaughn, to the home of Cleofas Manuel and Elvira (Duran) Rael. She attended primary school in Las Vegas before moving with her family to Vaughn where she attended Vaughn Public Schools.Molly worked at several Vaughn businesses including Cactus Cafe, Ranch House Cafe, Woody's Truck Stop, Mary's Barn, and also worked with the Vaughn School Concession.She enjoyed sewing, cooking, watching her favorite T.V. shows, planting flowers, and especially spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Vaughn Senior Citizens Center.Molly is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Rose Mondragon, and Victoria Pinson, a grandson Patrick Rael, and a son in law Michael Anaya.She is survived by five children, three daughters Cari Reuterdahl (Kurt) of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Mary Tenorio (Eric) of Las Cruces, Anna Rael of Vaughn, two sons, Leroy Rael (Angela) of Albuquerque, and Leo Rael (Yvette) of Los Lunas, one sister Mary Ann Baiza of Clovis, along with 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am Saturday, March 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am with Father Sotero A. Sena officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Urn bearer will be Gerald Rael. Honorary bearers will include Leon Rael, Nathan Rael, Antonio Tenorio, Brian Chavez, Jose Rael, and all her grandchildren.All arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home 830 N.
