Oliver A. Nelson

Oliver A. Nelson, 70 of Las Vegas, NM passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas. Oliver was born on June 13, 1949 in Santa Rosa, NM to the home of Claudio Nelson and Rogaciana (Martinez) Nelson. Oliver was raised in Pintada and attended school in Santa Rosa, where he graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1968. He later attended Highlands University in Las Vegas. Oliver worked as a cattle rancher and did construction work. While he lived in Pintada and Santa Rosa, Oliver was a parishioner at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Oliver is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife; Susan Chavez Nelson, and is survived by one son. Oliver is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. Oliver was to laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa on Saturday, June 6, 2020. All services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
