Pauline Chavez Kadell

Pauline Chavez Kadell, 65, of Amarillo, Texas, formerly of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Amarillo.

Pauline was born June 24, 1961, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, to Albert A. Chavez, Jr. and Carmen Velasquez Chavez. She was raised and attended school in Santa Rosa. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Santa Rosa.

Pauline enjoyed life and especially cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends for the time and memories they shared together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Carmen Chavez; sisters, Susan Nelson and Theresa Chavez; niece, Carmen Chavez; and nephews, Gabriel Chavez and Larry Chavez.

Those left to cherish her memory include her life partner, Greg Hromas; son, Albert Chavez; daughter, Holly Rubio (Johnny); brothers, LeRoy Chavez and Santiago Chavez; sisters, Ruth Olsen and Joanna Chavez; stepmother, Diana Chavez; eight grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A viewing for Pauline will take place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary Service at 3:00 p.m. at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.

As per Pauline’s wishes, cremation will follow the services. Her cremated remains will be buried with her mother, Carmen, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Santa Rosa at a later date.

Urn-bearers will be Angel Rubio, Urijah Rubio, and Greg Hromas. Honorary urn-bearers will be Adina Chavez, Delbert Marquez, and Kyle Hromas.

Pauline will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
