Peggy Beth (White) Sultemeier passed away peacefully on Friday, December 12, 2025.

Peggy was born November 3, 1928 in Wellington, Texas to Vista Jeffee Terry White and Robert James White. She was the youngest of five children—Geneva Morris, Sam White, Robert (Bob) White and Joe (Putt) White, all of whom preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by two nieces; Shirley Morris Brock and Janet Morris, a nephew; Jimmy White and granddaughter; Jessica Sultemeier Womack—who passed in November 2025.

The family moved to a ranch south of Puerto De Luna in the late 1930’s. Peggy graduated from Santa Rosa High School in 1946 and went on to attend Colorado Women’s College in Denver, CO.

She married Richard Simpson Sultemeier on December 26, 1947 at the Santa Rosa Methodist Church.

She dedicated her life to her husband and raising their three sons; Don, Charles (Bud) and Jeffrey (Joe) Sultemeier. They worked on several ranches in the Santa Rosa area, moving to the Sultemeier Ranch at White Lakes, NM in 1960. In 1975, the ranch sold and they returned to Santa Rosa.

Peggy was a member of Sunshine Chapter #44, Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron several times and was secretary for 25 years. She as a member for 79 years holding many offices locally and at the state level. She was active in New Mexico Cowbelles and was a state president in 1979 and was an active member of the Garden Club, where she won many awards for her flower designs and served in many positions.

She was an active member of the United Methodist Women’s Organization helping serve multiple Thanksgiving dinners to the community. She served the church for many years as secretary and historian. She held a life of service.

She is survived by her three sons; Don and his wife Kathie, Bud and his wife Candice, Joe and his wife Karen, granddaughters; Elisabeth (Estevan) Stowe, Elaina (John) Gully, Emma (Stephen) Ross, grandsons; Melvin (Mary) Sultemeier and Jeffrey (Lydia) Sultemeier, great-grandchildren; Ian, Annabelle, Grant and Hannah Gully, Shiloh and Samantha Stowe, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Santa Rosa Methodist Church.

Services will be held at a later date.

The family wishes the community a Merry Christmas.
