Preciliano "Percy" Romero

Preciliano “Percy” Romero, 87 of Upper Anton Chico, NM, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Percy was born July 30, 1939 in Upper Anton Chico to Antonio Romero and Rosa (Castillo) Romero. He was raised in Upper Anton Chico and attended school in Anton Chico. Following school, Percy worked as a furniture upholsterer in California, and later worked as a sheep herder in Wyoming and Vaughn, NM.

A life-long Catholic, he as a parishioner at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. Percy enjoyed hiking, arrowhead hunting, deer hunting and working on cars. However, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with family and friends.

Percy is preceded in death by his parents; Antonio and Rosa Romero, brother Benigno Castillo, sister; Tina Lucero, brother-in-law; Roberto Jaramillo, great-grandson; Malikai Marquez, great-nephew; Tim Cordova and great-niece; Vanessa Jaramillo.

He is survived by a sister; Bersabe Jaramillo of Santa Rosa, brothers; Pacifico Romero of Anton Chico and Adolfo (Terry) Romero of La Loma, daughter; Priscilla Olguin of Santa Rosa as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, family and friends.

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 6pm at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico.

A Communion Service is scheduled for Friday, October 2, 2026 at 11am at San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico with Deacon Marvin Marquez celebrating the service.

Interment will follow at Sangre De Cristo Cemetery in Upper Anton Chico with Bobby Jaramillo, Jerry Jaramillo, Martin Jaramillo, Juan Jaramillo, Ruben Romero and Jason Romero serving as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dominic Lerma, Brandon Jaramillo, Jonathan Jaramillo, Martin Jaramillo, Steve Vigil, Antonio Jaramillo, Patricio Jaramillo, Ernest Velasquez and Gilbert Velasquez.
