Rachel C Chacon

Rachel Chacon, 78 of Santa Rosa, NM, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Guadalupe County Hospital on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Rachel was born on August 9, 1940, to the home of Salvador Cortez and Concepcion (Regalado) Cortez in Oxnard, California.  Rachel was reared in Oxnard, CA where she was a homemaker and a parishioner at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Oxnard.  She was married to Carlos Chacon, who survives her, for 26 years.  Together, she and Carlos moved to Santa Rosa in 2004.  She enjoyed going to casinos and dances with Carlos.  She also enjoyed listening to music—especially mariachi music, Amor Eterno, being her favorite song. Rachel is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Anthony Rosalez and a daughter, Debbie Rosalez. She is survived by her husband, Carlos Chacon of Santa Rosa, her daughter, Cindy Rosalez, daughter, Maryann Nava and husband David, son, Johnny Rosalez and daughter, Lisa Camacho and husband David all of Oxnard, CA.  She is also survived by her brother, Rogelio Cortez; stepchildren, Tina Chacon, Charlie Chacon, and Chris Chacon all of Oxnard, CA.  Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, family, and friends. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Friday, May 3, 2019, at Chavez Funeral Home in Santa Rosa, followed by the Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at Chavez Funeral Home Chapel.  A visitation and rosary will take place at Garcia Mortuary, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with burial at Santa Clara Cemetery, all in Oxnard, California. Serving as Pallbearers will be; Joe Prado, Jayden Cervantes, David Camacho, Joseph Prado, John Martin, and Anthony Cervantes. All services are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, 923 S.
