Raymond B. Martinez

Raymond B. Martinez, 79 of Lubbock, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2022 in Lubbock. Raymond was born on November 21, 1942 in Tucumcari, NM to Juan Martinez and Frances (Pena) Martinez. Raymond was a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an avid Raiders fan. Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, son File Mata, as well as many brothers and sisters. Raymond is survived by his wife: Maria Martinez, Josie Martinez—who raised Raymond like a son, six grandchildren: Stephanie Allen, Michelle Salinas, Michael Salinas, Victoria (Kane) Marmalejo, Chris and Kaleb, all of Lubbock, step-daughters: Dorothy Salinas and Sara Mata of Lubbock, four sisters: Mary Beasley, Priscilla Rayos, Diane Martinez and Mary Helen Martinez and one brother: Tony Di Leon and wife, of Sacrament, California. Raymond is also survived by three Godchildren: Stephanie Godinez, Navarena Chavez and Jose Martinez of Tucumcari, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, family, and friends. Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tucumcari, NM with Father JohnPaul Afuecheta officiating.
